Loudia
Loudia’s story is unfortunately all too common among Haitian children. Her mother was in an abusive relationship with her father, and struggled to support her nine children when she finally got out. Her mother knew she had to find help with some of her children or none of them would make it off the streets. We saw something special in Loudia and we took her in.
Though it’s still difficult for her to talk about her past, she has worked hard with our counselor to better deal with her emotions and speak her mind. Despite everything she’s been through, she’s grown into a respectful, kind young woman who deals in jokes and sass when you get her talking.
Loudia is a hard worker who’ll give anything a try, and she dreams of becoming a nurse. Originally from a big family, she loves being a part of the hustle and bustle at the house, and we adore her right back!
